We sync our database regularly with the CSLB to keep records current. However, license status can change at any time. For the most up-to-date information on a specific contractor, we recommend verifying directly on the CSLB website at cslb.ca.gov.

CLEAR means the license is active and in good standing. SUSPENDED means the license has been temporarily suspended. REVOKED means the license has been permanently revoked. EXPIRED means the license has lapsed and needs renewal. INACTIVE means the contractor has voluntarily inactivated their license.

Classifications (like C-10, C-36, B) indicate the types of work a contractor is licensed to perform. For example, C-10 is Electrical, C-36 is Plumbing, and B is General Building. A contractor may hold multiple classifications.

No, you can search contractors without creating an account. However, creating a free account lets you save favorites and add private notes to contractors, which can be helpful for comparing options.

Existing subscribers can continue using their accounts normally and can cancel their subscription anytime. All features that were previously paid are now free for everyone.

Favorites let you bookmark contractors you are interested in. Click the heart icon on any contractor card to save them. You can view all your saved contractors on the Favorites page and add private notes to each one.

Yes, all notes you add to contractors are completely private and visible only to you. Notes are stored securely and are never shared with other users or the contractors themselves.

Currently, ContractorSearch.ai only covers California contractors licensed through the CSLB. We may expand to other states in the future.
